The First Time I Saw My Little Man Move in a 4D Ultrasound Scan

There are really no words that can describe the joy that I felt when I saw my little boy for the first time with a 4D ultrasound. I could not believe that I could see him moving around. I had an overwhelming feeling of happiness, and could not believe how clear the picture was. My husband immediately said he looked just like him, and I just smiled at him, knowing my son looked like both of us. He was incredibly amazed to see such detail, and I was immediately glad that we had decided to go with the 4D ultrasound. Looking at his little hands up around his face I fell even more in love with him then I had when I found out I was pregnant, and the first time I felt him kick. I could not wait for him to come into the world, and I could not wait to show the 4D ultrasound to our friends and families. Pretty soon our little man would be here for the whole world to see, and I could not have been more excited.

We were skeptical about doing the 4D ultrasound at first. We had talked to a lot of people who said it was just an extra expense and completely unnecessary. I felt like we could make an educated decision ourselves and we talked to our doctor who said if we wanted to know the sex for sure then a 4D ultrasound would certainly tell us. She described what the difference was in a 3D and a 4D and told us we could decide if we wanted to do it, and at what point in the pregnancy it would be done. A 4D ultrasound is better than a 3D ultrasound because it adds the element of movement. You will actually be able to see your baby move around and you will even be able to see it face change positions. This is an even bigger bonding experience for you and your baby, and shows you what you have to look forward to. According to our doctor, women who have had 4D ultrasounds take better care of themselves because they have an even bigger bond with their child. Some of this may be subconscious but it is better for the mother and the baby.

Thankfully our baby was as healthy as could be, but there are some cases where a 4D ultrasound has helped a doctor detect a problem or something noteworthy about the baby. Being able to see the baby in real time will allow them to thoroughly investigate everything about them as well as accurately determining the sex, weight, and age of the growing infant. I love our 4D ultrasound picture and I suggest any mother that loves her child to get one so that you will always have it. I looked at it every day until our little man came into the world and I just could not wait to meet him.
